Alleghany Highlands Chapter Student Scholarship

Dear Future Hokie,

Stellar education, Hokie football, the Drillfield, the Duck Pond — just a few things that come to mind when I consider my four years spent at Virginia Tech. I graduated from Tech in 1994 with my accounting degree and was fortunate to find related work in the Alleghany Highlands. An additional 300 Virginia Tech alumni are living or working in the Alleghany Highlands area. Because we believe the education we received at Virginia Tech is second-to-none, we want to encourage you as you attend Virginia's great state university.

Local alumni raise money throughout the year to award scholarships to qualifying seniors who will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall. Please take advantage of this opportunity.

Please submit your application to the scholarship committee no later than January 1.

The criteria for selecting scholarship award winners include academic achievement, as well as participation in school activities, financial need, and community support. We plan to announce our selections by February 1.

In addition, local alumni will host a new student reception to honor your achievements and encourage you as you begin your college career. You will receive a separate email with event details.

Should you have any questions, please contact me at 540-862-9575 or email me at sandkall@aol.com. Congratulations on your acceptance and I hope to welcome you as a member of the Class of 2028.
