Details: Join the Central Florida Hokies for a community park clean up. Please dress appropriately as volunteers will be working outside. Closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and a refillable water bottle are recommended. Stick around after the community cleanup and join us for lunch (self-pay). We'll confirm where we're meeting that morning.

Details: The Charleston Hokies are partnering with East Cooper Habitat for Humanity for the third year in a row to help with foundational work at one of the new home sites. The job site will have two veteran cottages located on it and we will help with the beginning stages of the first home. Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes.

Details: Help keep Charlotte beautiful! We will be hosting a community cleanup of our street, Parkwood Avenue, as part of the Adopt-A-Street Service Project. Stick around for lunch and drinks at a local brewery afterwards. Lunch is self-pay and anyone can join!

Details: Give back to communities in need! We'll be processing donated goods by sorting, counting, packaging, and stacking items for shipment. Dress in Hokie attire so we can find each other and volunteer together! 
Registration: First-time volunteers should register on the M25M website (group name is Virginia Tech Alumni) prior to their visit and arrive 15 minutes early to have an ID printed. If you've previously volunteered at M25M, bring your ID card.

D.C. Hokies Park Cleanup in Annandale

Date: Sunday, April 19
Time: 10 a.m.-noon
Location: Annadale Community Park at Hidden Oaks Nature Center, 4030 Hummer Road, Annandale, VA 22003
Details: Join the D.C Hokies to save trees in our local park from various vines and berries — no experience necessary! You will help contain tree loss in this special park and learn useful, simple skills to use at home to save your own trees. Bring work gloves, pruners, loopers, or saws if you have them! Dress for the weather and elements — long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes are recommended. Kids ages 12 and older are welcome to volunteer with adult supervision.

D.C. Hokies Park Cleanup in Arlington

Date: Sunday, April 26
Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Location: Potomac Regional Overlook Park, 2845 Marcey Road, Arlington, VA 22207
Details: No experience necessary! If you have work gloves, please bring them with you. There will be extra on hand if you do not have any work items. Please bring water and wear long sleeves, long pants, and appropriate shoes. Kids over the age of 12 are welcome with adult supervision and will need to sign a waiver upon arrival.

Details: We will be cleaning up trash in the commuter lot at the corner of 605 and 29/15. This is a great opportunity for civic-minded Hokies and students in need of service hours! Volunteers will check in at the beginning of the event to receive supplies. We will also take a moment of silence for those who lost their lives on April 16, 2007. Please join us as we make our community beautiful!

First State Hokies Watershed Cleanup

Date: Saturday, April 11

Location: New Castle County Hope Center (Behind Hope Center), 365 Airport Road, New Castle, DE 19720
Details: Join the First State Hokies and hundreds of volunteers to help clean the single most important natural resource in our region, the Christina River Watershed. Volunteers should dress for the weather. Wear long pants, brightly colored shirts with long sleeves, and boots or water resistent shoes. Make sure to also bring a hat, heavy duty gloves, insect repellent, and sunscreen. Volunteers under the age of 16 must have an adult chaperone. Afterwards, we'll gather at The Legend Restaurant and Bakery for lunch.

First State Hokies Food Bank Volunteering

Date: Wednesday, April 22
Time: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Location: Milton Food Bank, 102 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milton, DE 19968
Details: Join First State Hokies to lend a hand at the Milton Healthy Pantry Center. Together, we'll greet pantry customers, assist them in making food selections, and help them through the check-out process. We'll also assist the food bank by stocking shelves, freezers, and refrigerators. Volunteers should dress in layers so they're comfortable through the day.

Details: We will be mulching, weeding, and helping clean up a wonderful community garden here in Los Angeles. Volunteers will arrive at 9 a.m. and no gardening experience is necessary — we'll learn as we go! Closed-toed shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle are recommended.

Details: We will be preparing and serving dinner at the SECU Family House, a low-cost residential option for patients receiving treatment at nearby Winston-Salem hospitals. Two two-hour shifts are available for volunteers and will include preparing and serving meals to patients and their families. We have also donated paper goods and supplies to keep the kitchen stocked with essential needs.

Details: Join the New England Hokies for a morning of service with Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit serving the needs of children with clothing insecurity. With the help of volunteers, clothing packages from The Giving Factory are distributed to local children. The New England Hokies will help by checking, sorting, packing, and preparing donated clothing for distribution to kids in the Boston Metro area.

Details: The Palmetto Hokies will be volunteering at South Carolina's largest food bank. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing suitable for bending and lifting and closed-toed shoes (Crocs are not allowed). Other requirements include no jeans with frays or holes, no loose hanging jewelry, no clothing with inappropriate language or imagery, and no see-through clothing. The chapter will meet up to watch the Virginia Tech Spring Game afterward!

Richmond Hokies Blood Drive

Details: Join the Richmond Hokies for their annual Big Event blood drive with the American Red Cross!

From there, we'll gather supplies and head to Fallon Park for a community clean up. Supplies will be provided.

Details: Join the Seattle Hokies at Marra Farms for a day of gardening and seasonal preparation. We'll build soil, prepare vegetable beds, plant vegetable starts and seeds, weed, compost, harvest, wash produce, and distribute produce to the community food bank and other locations. All gardening skill levels welcome — you'll learn as you go and build knowledge we can use again next year! Bring a water bottle, snacks/lunch, and clothes meant for working in all weather, including a raincoat, warm socks, closed-toe shoes, and a hat.

Details: Join the Shenandoah Hokies for their 19th Annual Memorial Blood Drive and give back to your community by donating blood. This event is a partnership with the American Red Cross and Chick-fil-A Pleasant Valley. Everyone in attendance will receive a Chick-fil-A meal and commemorative gift as a thank you!

Details: Join the Tidewater Hokies to clean up the Virginia Beach Aquarium creek. Help keep our local marine and aquatic wildlife safe by cleaning up trash before it makes its way to the ocean.
