Asian American Student Union Celebration at Alumni Weekend

Celebrate 30 years of the Asian American Student Union at Alumni Weekend June 4-7!

Attendees gain full access to Alumni Weekend with special events for Asian American Student Union alumni and guests!  

Alumni Weekend registration is all inclusive of food, drinks, and entertainment on the schedule. Members of Asian American Student Union affiliated student organizations and/or Asian Pacific Islander Desi Alumni Society (APIDAS) will have spaces to gather at the Taste of Virginia Food, Wine, and Beer Festival as well as other sponsored events.

Friday, June 5

• 8-10 p.m. Asian American Student Union (AASU) 30th Anniversary Celebration (Hefun)
  • All Hokies are invited to the 30th Anniversary Celebration for Virginia Tech’s Asian American Student Union (AASU)! Heavy appetizers and drinks will be provided with support from AASU and the Asian Pacific Islander and Desi Alumni Society (APIDAS) at Hefun in Blacksburg! Founded in 1996, AASU has fostered unity, leadership, and community among Asian and Asian American students at Virginia Tech. Now, AASU and APIDAS are coming together to honor three decades of connection and empowerment during an evening filled with laughter, community, and shared Hokie Spirit. Join us to reconnect with friends, meet new faces, and celebrate this milestone in AASU’s history — 30 years in the making!

Saturday, June 6 

• 3-5 p.m. APIDA + Center Open House (APIDA + Center, Squires Student Center)
  • All Hokies are invited to join the Asian American Student Union (AASU) and Asian Pacific Islander and Desi Alumni Society (APIDAS) to celebrate AASU’s 30th anniversary! Take a tour of Virginia Tech’s APIDA + Center (opened in 2016), explore curated materials from the university archives, enjoy a gallery highlighting AASU’s milestones and influential members, and share your own stories that have shaped Hokie Nation. Stop by for boba, snacks, and a celebration of 30 years of Hokie pride and Virginia Tech’s Asian American community!
