The Center's Namesake

The center is named for William B. Holtzman. Holtzman earned his undergraduate degree in horticulture from Virginia Tech in 1959.

President and founder of Holtzman Oil Corporation, he serves as vice chairman of the Campaign Steering Committee. In addition to his extraordinary support of the alumni and conference center, Holtzman has been a long-time supporter of university initiatives, including the Corps of Cadets, the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund, and the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies. For this generous support, the alumni center is named in his honor.
