Chapter Scholarships

Alumni Chapter scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. With a preference for incoming students, these scholarships aim to ease the transition to college and recognize the next generation of leaders in the Virginia Tech community.
Scholarships are a source of pride for local chapters and help fund books, tuition, and more for students. We encourage all eligible students to apply.
To be eligible, students must first submit their application for admission to Virginia Tech. Within 72 hours of submitting their application, students will receive an email with instructions to create their applicant portal where they will access all university scholarship opportunities. - Sept. 3: Alumni chapter scholarship applications available for student submissions.
- Jan. 15: Regular decision application deadline to admissions.
- Jan. 22: Virginia Tech general scholarship application and FAFSA filing deadline. Visit Scholarship Central to complete the general application and the Federal Student Aid website to file a FAFSA. Virginia Tech updates related to the FAFSA Simplification Act can be found online.
- Feb. 1: Alumni chapter scholarship application deadline to university scholarships and financial aid.
- Feb. 1-March 1: Alumni chapter scholarship committees meet to select scholarship recipients and award amounts.
- March 1: FAFSA priority deadline.
- March 1: Transfer decision application deadline to admissions. (summer/fall)
- April 1: Students notified of regular decision admission.
- Mid-April: Accepted students receive financial aid packages (including recipients of alumni chapter scholarships).
- April-June: Virginia Tech Advancement outreach to students accepted to Virginia Tech with scholarship updates and upcoming alumni hosted events for incoming, transfer, and current students and their parents.
- May 1: Deadline for students to reply to admissions regarding early action and regular decision acceptance.
- May 1-Mid-August: Student Send-Off events in various alumni chapter areas across the U.S.
- July 15: First-year final transcripts, Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) updates, and official test scores due from students that accepted admission (if applicable). Must be completed by scholarship award recipients to receive scholarship benefits in time for fall semester.
