Join us for a two-hour workshop in person or online led by a panel of industry professionals, including a Virginia Tech Cornerstone Alum, a retired U.S. Marshal and a local Clerk of the Circuit Court. Listen and learn as we uncover:
- How scammers exploit trust, urgency, and technology.
- Practical steps to reduce your exposure to scams and fraud.
- Why caller ID, emails, websites, text messages, and other digital communications can no longer be assumed authentic.
- Real-world examples of modern scam and cybercrime techniques.
- Simple rules that can help protect your finances, accounts, devices, and personal information.
Also learn about VA DEED Alert and Chex Systems and how these software platforms can benefit you as a consumer.
Registration is required, with options to participate in person or virtually. In-person seating is limited.
