Parking and Transportation

Hundreds of Hokies will be on campus during our Black Alumni Reunion — plus the weekend is packed with other events. Here's what to know about parking and transportation during one of our busiest campus weekends. 

Parking and shuttle service for Black Alumni Reunion 

Self-parking is available and encouraged at The Inn at Virginia Tech throughout the weekend. Shuttle service will also be available and provided by Sunshine Bus Tours and Virginia Tech Fleet Services for Black Alumni Reunion registrants exclusively. Please see the shuttle schedule below for more information. Guests must display their BAR nametag to access the shuttle.

Self-parking will also be available in the Architecture Annex/Media Lot beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 14 through Saturday, April 15. Parking passes are required for this lot and will be provided at check-in.

Weekend road closures

Weekend road closures can be found online and will especially impact morning traffic on Saturday, April 15 during the 3.2-Mile Run in Remembrance. For spring game parking and transportation information, please visit HokieSports.com. Pre-and post-game traffic patterns will be in effect.

Sunshine Bus (ADA Compliant)

  • 8:30-9:30 p.m. Continuous Shuttle from The Inn at Virginia Tech (main entrance) to Squires Student Center (along Alumni Mall)
  • 9:30 p.m. FINAL PICKUP FROM SQUIRES STUDENT CENTER to drop off at The Inn at Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech Fleet Services Bus

  • 8:30-11 a.m. Continuous shuttle service from The Inn at Virginia Tech (main entrance) to Washington Street drop off location (near Basketball Practice Facility)
  • 11 a.m.-noon Continuous loop from The Inn at Virginia Tech (main entrance) to Squires Student Center (along Alumni Mall)
  • 3-5:30 p.m. Continuous loop from Squires Student Center (along Alumni Mall) to Burruss Hall to Sandy Hall 
  • 5:30-9:30 p.m. Continuous Loop from The Inn at Virginia Tech (main entrance) to Squires Student Center (along Alumni Mall)
  • 9:30 p.m. FINAL PICKUP FROM SQUIRES STUDENT CENTER to drop off at The Inn at Virginia Tech

Sunshine Bus (ADA Compliant)

  • 5:30 p.m. Pickup from Residence Inn by Marriott and Hyatt Place Blacksburg
  • 5:40 p.m. Pickup from The Inn at Virginia Tech (main entrance) and drop off at Squires Student Center (along Alumni Mall)
  • 6 p.m. Continuous 15-minute loop with pickup at Residence Inn by Marriott and Hyatt Place Blacksburg and drop off at Squires Student Center (along Alumni Mall)
  • Midnight Shuttle pickup from Squires Student Center (along Alumni Mall) and drop off at The Inn at Virginia Tech, Residence Inn by Marriott, and Hyatt Place Blacksburg
  • 12:15-2 a.m. Continuous shuttle from Squires Student Center (along Alumni Mall) and drop off at The Inn at Virginia Tech, Residence Inn by Marriott, and Hyatt Place Blacksburg
  • 2 a.m. FINAL PICKUP FROM THE LYRIC to drop off at The Inn at Virginia Tech, Residence Inn by Marriott, and Hyatt Place Blacksburg

Virginia Tech Fleet Services Bus

  • 5:15-8 p.m. Bus will alternate between picking up at Courtyard by Marriott Blacksburg and dropping off at Squires Student Center AND picking up at The Inn at Virginia Tech and dropping off at Squires Student Center
  • 8 p.m.-midnight The route will shift to a continuous shuttle service from Squires Student Center and Courtyard by Marriott Blacksburg
  • Midnight-2 a.m. The shuttle will run continuously from The Lyric to the Courtyard by Marriott Blacksburg
  • 2 a.m. FINAL PICKUP FROM THE LYRIC to drop off at Courtyard by Marriott Blacksburg
