About the venue

The Candy Store is a members-only car museum featuring exquisite vintage cars. It started in 1978 when two automobile enthusiasts had a vision for a safe environment to store their collection with a clubhouse to share it with other enthusiasts. In 1983, the venue moved to its current facility and reorganized into a not-for-profit club. The elegant Spanish style building was designed in 1928 as a Packard Dealership for Earle C. Anthony.

Attendees will enjoy a visual feast of historic automobiles and paintings, as well as the beautiful building, complete with slate floors, cathedral windows, and beamed ceilings in the front showroom. The inviting antique bar provides an intimate place to soak in the atmosphere. This extraordinary venue was made possible by Virginia Tech alumni John Thompson ’70, MBA ’72 and Phyllis Thompson M.S. ’73.
