FAQs
What is Joy of Doodling?
Joy of Doodling is a virtual event we've hosted the last several years. Participants who sign up for the virtual event get a doodles calendar. Each year the event has a different theme. This year you're the artist, and we're showcasing your work.
How do I get a calendar?
Getting the calendar is easy! Just register for the event and we'll mail you a calendar.
Doodles calendars are perfect for gifting. What if I want more than one calendar?
New this year, excited Hokies can get more than one calendar. Check out our pricing page for details.
When can I expect my calendar?
We're shipping out calendars regularly during the next several months. Check out our shipping page for order deadlines and expected delivery dates.
What is the sketching showcase?
This year we're spotlighting the artwork of fellow Hokies. The showcase will feature your work. Submit sketches of your favorite Virginia Tech tradition and we'll pick winners at random during our virtual event.
Those lucky Hokie artists will be featured in next year's calendar and an upcoming edition of Virginia Tech Magazine.
How can I get my art displayed?
Submitting your work to the showcase is easy. Email your art to alumni@vt.edu or share it through our form. Be sure to check back here as we share some of your work.
Do I have to attend the event to get the calendar?
You don't have to attend the virtual event to get the calendar, but you do need to register. But why would you want to miss it?! We'll be unveiling our winners and talking with Doodler Steven White.
I heard Joy of Doodling helps current students, how?
A portion of each event registration is a gift that supports student scholarships at Virginia Tech.
Together through the years, Joy of Doodling has raised thousands of dollars to support a new generation of Hokies. Support opportunities for our students and score a calendar to keep the Hokie Spirit alive all year long.
