Invasive Species: Spotted Lanternfly and Fire Ants, What We Have Learned So Far

Spotted Lanternfly

Thursday, April 24 from 11 a.m.-noon EST
Virtual via Zoom

This event is free to attend, but registration is required. A $5 gift to the Entomology Department Annual Fund is encouraged upon registration.

Since their arrival in the Mid-Atlantic and Southern states, the Spotted Lanternfly and Fire Ant have adapted and found favorable conditions to set up camp. Ongoing research efforts have advanced what is known about both species and what risks they pose to humans and agriculture.

Join Eric Day, entomologist at Virginia Tech, to uncover what's really at risk nowadays and how to effectively control both species.
