Aging in Community Workshop

Thursday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m.-noon

Registration is free, but required, and an optional gift to Virginia Tech's Gerontology Annual Fund is encouraged upon registering.
Carlisle Shealy, assistant director of Virginia Tech's Center for Gerontology, will lead a workshop and community discussion for the Northern Virginia and greater Washington, D.C. areas. She will explore personal reflection, intentional planning, and the development of action plans to address successfully aging in place.
The workshop will also cover housing, health and wellness, transportation, personal finance, and connection and growth. Participants will also learn how to facilitate small group discussions on these topics with friends and peers in their communities.
