Student Alumni Associates
The Student Alumni Associates (SAA) is a bridge between the student population and the alumni of Virginia Tech.
With a mission of embodying its four pillars of Spirit, Service, Philanthropy, and Leadership, SAA offers its members unparalleled experiences and opportunities through volunteer events, conferences, and networking with alumni.
As a member of SAA, students will have the opportunity to serve on a committee related to one of the four pillars of the organization and can choose to increase their involvement to a chair position or executive role.
Recruitment to join SAA occurs in the beginning of each semester, where interested students must attend an information session and all relevant interviews. View the bottom of thie webpage and follow SAA's Instagram for recruitment information, updates on events, and all relevant dates.

The Pillars
The Spirit Committee of SAA works to lead the Virginia Tech student body into connecting with alumni as well as one another through the Hokie Spirit! We do this through opportunities and events such as Hokie Cab, Spirit Tabling, and Hokie Hi Picnic. This committee also helps lead the charge in cultivating the student experience of Homecoming programming and the annual updates to the Hokie Bucket List found below!
The Service committee of SAA is the branch that most closely works to connect current students to both their local and alumni communities. This includes organizing alumni tours, volunteering within the president's box during home football games, volunteering at Alumni Weekend, as well as organizing opportunities for the general body to engage in community outreach within the New River Valley.

Through the leadership committee, members strive to make SAA a warm and inviting atmosphere for students. By organizing events, such as collaborations with other student organizations and the end-of-semester celebration banquets, the leadership committee encourages engagement both within SAA and other areas of the university.
With the "Big/Little" program, leadership committee members work to foster those relationships by creating opportunities for members to mentor each other. All of these efforts culminate in leading the recruitment process and sharing SAA with others who might be interested! Upcoming dates for recruitment can be found at the bottom of this page and on our Instagram.
The main goal of the philanthropy committee is to educate the general body and other outside organizations about what it means to be philanthropic with our time, treasure, and talents — and especially how we as Hokies can get more involved. This includes overseeing and coordinating student involvement within central campaigns such as Giving Day, Thank-a-Donor Day, and Impact Week programing, as well as creating opportunities for general philanthropy education.
