FAQs
We're here to answer all your Reunion Weekend questions. Check out the FAQs below.
Who is the reunion for?
We’re celebrating milestone class anniversaries (fifth through the 50th), but all Hokies (and their families) are welcome.
The fun will begin early for our Cornerstone Alumni on June 8, with Reunion Weekend starting for all attendees on June 9. Cornerstone Alumni are encouraged to enjoy the entire weekend at no additional cost.
What does my registration fee include?
Registration includes access to all scheduled events, including tours and lectures, plus meals, happy hours, and drinks. When you sign up the weekend is all inclusive. We’ll handle the fun, food, and more.
What public health protocols will be in place during the event?
Reunion Weekend will follow current public health guidelines. The latest information can be found at vt.edu/ready.
We are optimistic about gathering in person this summer. For Hokies who cannot or do not feel comfortable gathering in large numbers, a virtual option will be available. Registration for the virtual event will be available this spring.
Alcoholics Anonymous meets by the porch of the Solitude House near the Duckpond. Tuesday and Friday at 6 p.m., Sundays at 11 a.m. Outdoor meeting.
What if I need to cancel my plans after I’ve registered?
Please see our event cancellations policy for details. Your registration fee is refundable, but your gift is not. Five dollars of each adult registration is a gift to the Virginia Tech Annual Fund, which directs support to students and area of the university most in need.
A summertime Reunion Weekend? Is this new?
We held our first summertime Reunion Weekend in 2018 and our second in 2019. In 2020 and 2021, our in-person celebrations were canceled and we moved the fun online. We changed our approach to reunions in 2018 to provide a better experience for all Hokies, and we're excited to come together again in person this year!
What about the 50th Reunion, specialty reunions, and college tailgates? Does this change those events?
The class of 1972 is celebrating their 50th reunion this year at Reunion Weekend! The Class of 1971 became the first class to celebrate its 50th Reunion virtually at Reunion Weekend in 2021 and were welcomed as Cornerstone Alumni. The class of 1971 will also receive recognition during this year's in-person reunion on June 9.
Class 50th reunions are celebrated at Reunion Weekend and Cornerstone Alumni also hold their events at Reunion Weekend.
College tailgates are not affected and alumni affinity groups and organizations are invited to celebrate milestones during Reunion Weekend. For more information, please contact reunion@vt.edu.
How can I get involved?
Glad you asked! We're always looking for volunteers to help in reunion planning and promotion. Plus, we're always looking for feedback. We want to hear from you. Send us a note.
