Schedule

Registration includes access to all scheduled events, including tours and sessions, plus meals, happy hours, and drinks!  When you sign up, the weekend is all inclusive. We’ll handle the fun, food, and more.

Attire for the weekend is Hokie Casual.

On-site event check-in will be located at the Holtzman Alumni Center and open Wednesday, June 7 at noon and run through Saturday, June 10.

Desserts will be available from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7 at the Holtzman Alumni Center.

Thursday, June 8

  • 8:30-10 a.m.: Cornerstone and 50th breakfast with colleges (Squires, Commonwealth Ballroom)
  • Morning sessions and tours
    • 10:15-11 a.m.: Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Presentation and Update (Squires, Commonwealth B)
    • 10:15-11 a.m.: Creativity and Innovation District Tour (Creativity and Innovation District)
    • 11:15 a.m.-noon: Corps of Cadets Upper Quad Tour (Upper Quad)
    • 11:15 a.m.-noon: ExperienceVT Speaker (Squires, Commonwealth B)
    • 11:15 a.m.-noon: Book Discussion: In the True Blue's WakeIf you are interested in participating in the book discussion at Alumni Weekend, please reach out to Katie Lafon at klafon@vt.edu or 540-231-8910. She will send you a copy of the book for the Cornerstone Alumni program. (Squires, Yorktown)
  • 12:30-1:45 p.m.: Cornerstone and 50th lunch with Bud Foster (Squires, Commonwealth Ballroom)
  • Afternoon sessions and tours
    • 2-4 p.m.: Virginia Tech Transportation Institute Experience (VTTI, 3500 Transportation Research Plaza, shuttles will leave from Squires)
    • 2-3:30 p.m.: Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine Tours; this is an operational veterinary hospital and tour experience may vary, limited capacity (Vet Med, a shuttle will leave from Squires, parking is unavailable)
    • 2-4 p.m.: Wallace Hall Home Economics Alumni Gathering (Wallace Hall)
    • 2-5 p.m.: Moss Arts Center Galleries Open House (Moss Arts Center)
  • 6-10 p.m.: Cornerstone Alumni and 50th Reunion Induction Banquet, semi-formal attire (Squires, Commonwealth Ballroom)
  • All day: Shuttle services available from the Holtzman Alumni Center to Squires

  • 6:30-11:30 p.m.: Party and dinner on the Drillfield with band and fireworks, featuring Young Hearts (Drillfield)

Sunday, June 11

  • 9:30-11 a.m.: Farewell brunch with athletics and coaches, facilitated by hall of fame analyst Mike Burnop '73 with Bud Foster and Tony Robie (McComas Hall)
