The Alumni Weekend schedule outline is below.

Please note: This schedule is a preliminary outline and will continue to be updated as programs are confirmed.

Registration includes access to all scheduled events, including tours and sessions, plus meals, happy hours, and drinks! When you sign up, the weekend is all inclusive. We’ll handle the fun, food, and more.

Attire for the weekend is Hokie Casual.

An information table and check-in will be available for all guests at the Holtzman Alumni Center starting on Wednesday, June 4.

Thursday, June 5

  • 8:30-10 a.m. Cornerstone and 50th breakfast with colleges (Squires, Commonwealth Ballroom)
  • 10:15-noon Morning speaker sessions and behind-the-scenes tours
    • 10:15-11 a.m. School of Communication Multimedia Center Tour (Shanks)
    • 10:15-11 a.m. TBD (TBD)
    • 11:15 a.m.-noon Corps of Cadets Upper Quad Tour (Meet in Squires near Alumni Mall)
    • 11:15 a.m.-noon Native Species and Seasonal Container Gardening (Squires, Colonial Hall)
  • 12:30-1:45 p.m. Cornerstone and 50th lunch (Squires, Commonwealth Ballroom)
  • 2-5 p.m. Afternoon speaker sessions and tours (TBD)   
  • 6-10 p.m. Cornerstone Alumni and 50th Reunion Induction Banquet (TBD)
  • All weekend. Hahn Garden self-guided tour, pick up a map at the garden. (200 Garden Lane)
  • All weekend. Virginia Tech Disc Golf Course. Stop by the Virginia Tech Golf Course Pro Shop to pick up and scorecard and to learn more. (Duck Pond Drive)
  • 5-7 p.m. Summer Gallery Opening Reception (Moss Arts Center)

Friday, June 6

  • 8-9:30 a.m. Breakfast in our newest dining center (Perry Place at Hitt Hall)
  • 9:30-11:15 a.m. Morning speaker sessions and tours
  • 9:30-11:15 a.m. Frith Lab Open House (New Classroom Building)
  • 9:30-10:15 a.m. Study Abroad Panel Discussion (New Classroom Building)
  • 10:30-11:15 a.m. Virginia Tech Center for Refugee, Migrant, and Displacement studies (New Classroom Building)  
  • 1:30-3 p.m. Afternoon tours and open houses
  • 1:30-3 p.m. Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise (War Memorial Hall, Human Integrative Physiology Lab)
  • 1:30-3 p.m. War Memorial Hall Tour and Open House with Recreational Sports (War Memorial Hall)
  • 1:30-3 p.m. School of Design Tour: Using design to consider ecosystems and education of Stroubles Creek (Duck Pond)

  • 3-6 p.m. Taste of Virginia Food, Wine, and Beer Festival. Featuring food and drink from across the commonwealth. (Holtzman Alumni Center)
    • Including kids' activities, Bug Zoo, and science experiments     
  • 6-8 p.m. Young Alumni Happy Hour (classes 2015-2025) on Sharkey's rooftop
  • 6-8 p.m. Class of 1975 50th Reunion Celebration (Data and Decision Sciences)
  • 7-9 p.m. Corps Reception (Leadership and Military Sciences Building)
  • 8-midnight Downtown Takeover. Enjoy some of Blacksburg's hit watering holes with included appetizers at Hokie House and Top of the Stairs.

Saturday, June 7

  • 9-9:30 a.m. Informal remembrance opportunity for all alumni (April 16 Memorial, Drillfield)
  • 9-9:30 a.m. Class of 1975 and Cornerstone Alumni Remembrance Service (War Memorial Chapel)
  • 9:30-10:45 a.m. Coffee and Community. Carol Lee donuts and coffee. (Squires Student Center)
  • 9-10:45 a.m. Morning tours and open houses
  • 9-10:45 a.m. School of Communication Multimedia Center Tour (Shanks Hall)
  • 11-11:45 a.m. Presidential Town Hall (Moss Arts Center)
  • College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (Dietrick Hall, Side Room)
  • College of Architecture, Arts, and Design (Cowgill Hall)
  • College of Engineering (Goodwin Hall)
  • College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences (Owens Banquet Hall)
