Austin Hokies will be participating in a 400+ person event sponsored by Keep Austin Beautiful. On April 21, we will be doing a kayak and waterway cleanup. Sign up here and make sure you select waterway, not shore line cleanup!

Details:
Central Florida Hokies, save the date for April 6 for our Big Event activity followed by a social! Join us as Canova Beach Park for a beach cleanup with KBB (Keep Brevard Beautiful) beginning at 9 a.m. Then join us at Intracoastal Brewing Company for a social and get together! Make sure you bring yourself, friends and a little Ut Prosim. Equipment and supplies will be provided by KBB. We will have buckets, grabbers, bags, gloves. Please be sure to RSVP to ensure that we have enough for everyone. We hope to see you there! Go Hokies!

Details:
This year we are working with East Cooper Habitat for Humanity to volunteer at their Society Road build site in McClellanville. Charleston Hokies are encouraged to sign up for the event using this link. All volunteers must wear closed toed shoes. If you are an adult volunteering, please complete this waiver. If you are a minor volunteering, please complete this waiver. You can email waivers to volunteer@eastcooperhabitat.org or bring it to your shift. We provide drinks, snacks, sunblock, and bug spray and advise you dress comfortably for the weather.

Calling all Hokie Volunteers, come out to help keep Charlotte beautiful! We will be hosting the Big Event through an Adopt-A-Street Service Project. The Virginia Tech Charlotte Chapter Alumni Association adopted a mile long stretch of Parkwood Ave near the Villa Heights Community from which we will remove trash/debris. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring gloves if you have them. We will be packing up items for communities in need.

Details: Help spruce up the shorelines of White Rock Lake with other Hokies! Plan to meet at 9-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6 at White Rock Lake in Dallas, exact meet-up location within the park will be determined. We will hand out grabbers, nets, and t-shirts before beginning. Stay as long as you'd like. Please bring gloves and wear Hokie gear! If you plan to attend, please RSVP by March 31 here.

Location: Meet at Mount Falcon East Trailhead, 3852 Vine St., Morrison, CO 80465
Details: Join the Denver Hokies and Front Range Trails Conservancy at Mount Falcon Open Space Park for a morning of trail improvement. We'll be hiking up the Turkey Trot Trail and completing rock armoring, de-berming, and other projects to enhance the trail and provide a better experience and a more usable trail for visitors with disabilities. No experience needed, but you must be able to hike and use a variety of tools, including shovels, picks, and rakes. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Be prepared for numerous and changing environmental conditions. There are 25 initial spots available. Please sign up here. You’ll need to create an account and sign the waiver. Details: Join the Jacksonville Hokies for our day of service as we volunteer at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Garden! The foods harvested from this garden supply their food pantry which helps local families with food insecurities. Be sure to dress appropriately: hats, sunscreen, and close toed shoes that may get muddy. And don't forget some gardening gloves!

Details: The N.C. Triad Chapter will be preparing and serving dinner to 40 to 50 patients, caregivers, and/or family members staying at the SECU Family House in Winston-Salem. The facility provides low cost housing for adult patients and loved ones while receiving treatment at area hospitals. The chapter has been participating in this project for several years and looks forward to making another dinner and interacting with the families on Thursday, April 18 from 2-4 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. We will require four to six volunteers for each shift.

Details: We will be volunteering with Dress For Success Pittsburgh to assist in unloading and sorting items in their warehouse. The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Participants should dress comfortably and come prepared to sort and organize donations and assist with FAB sale prep. Offering two different events

Location: Monocacy National Battlefield, 5201 Urbana Pike, Frederick, MD 21704
Details: Please join the Western Maryland Chapter along with National Park Service employees to complete maintenance and cleanup projects and help preserve and improve the natural and cultural resources of Monocacy National Battlefield. Volunteers will meet and sign in at the Visitors Center and then head out to different parts of the battlefield.

Details: The Big Event opportunity on Sunday will be held at Waterford Park in Frederick. We're on a mission to plant 50 trees in one of Frederick's beloved community park, and we need your help! Registration is required, you can do so here. Tools will be provided, but plan to bring gloves, water, and snacks.

Location: Supporting House of Mercy fundraiser, Williamsburg Premium Outlets, 5699 Richmond Road, #18, Williamsburg, VA 23188
Details: Williamsburg House of Mercy provides human services to all people, especially the most vulnerable, regardless of faith. They provide a safe environment for area homeless, emergency assistance, and supportive services to those struggling to maintain housing and regain stability. Our chapter has been asked to support their fundraiser at Ben & Jerry's by handing out House of Mercy brochures to people coming to the shop for a free scoop of ice cream. We need two to three volunteers per two-hour shift (Noon-2 p.m.,  2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m.). We are encouraging volunteers to wear Virginia Tech gear to create an awareness of VT’s motto of service to others and to promote our local alumni chapter. Local HOKIES interested in volunteering should send an email to wbghokies@gmail.com with their contact information and the shift he/she is available to help. Ben & Jerry’s is located at Williamsburg Premium Outlets, 5699 Richmond Road, #18.
