The Gateway Society Celebration at Alumni Weekend
Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association at Alumni Weekend June 5-8!
The Gateway Society is a commemorative organization to recognize past members and their service to Virginia Tech. As a member of this illustrious group, we invite you to celebrate a foundational milestone for Virginia Tech, the 150th anniversary of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.
In 1875, the first students at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College graduated and formed what we know today as the Virginia Tech Alumni Association. These first graduates set in motion a legacy of Ut Prosim and formed the foundation for alumni to build upon. To recognize this important anniversary, Virginia Tech invites you home, to Blacksburg, to celebrate together June 5-8 during Alumni Weekend.
Join current and former members of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association Board of Directors across four days of intentional Hokie fun on campus with special recognitions and exclusive opportunities to gather. Alumni Weekend is a rapidly growing tradition that provides alumni an all-inclusive experience together with meals, tours, behind the scenes opportunities, and much more. During the weekend, members of The Gateway Society can enjoy:
- Full inclusion and recognition at Alumni Weekend with access to all of the weekend’s programs, meals, and other offerings.
- Special reserved tables for Cornerstone Gateway and VTAA Members at the Cornerstone Alumni Banquet on Thursday, June 5.
- Special space to gather at Friday’s keystone program, the Taste of Virginia Food, Beer, and Wine festival, on Friday, June 6.
- An exclusive 150th Gateway Society celebration downtown on Friday evening including a rendezvous with the current VTAA Board during the “Downtown Takeover.”
- An invitation to join donors, VTAA Board members, and other leadership volunteers for brunch Saturday, June 7 prior to President Sands Town Hall with VTAA Board President Q&A.
- Special seating and announcement at the weekend’s signature event, the Dinner on the Drillfield on Saturday, June 7.
