Peninsula Chapter Student Scholarship

Dear Hokie,

Congratulations and welcome to the Virginia Tech family! As the president of the Peninsula Chapter and one of more than 3,000 alumni living on the Peninsula, I believe I can speak for all alumni when I say that an education at Virginia Tech is second-to-none. Your time at Virginia Tech will be one of the most exciting times of your life.

Our university motto is Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). Through the Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, our members hope to serve not only our alma mater but also our local community by helping local students with some of their first year college expenses.

The Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association will award scholarships to exemplary, incoming Virginia Tech first-year students that begin their studies in fall 2024.  We are looking for future Hokies that demonstrate leadership, scholarship, character, and are committed to contributing to their community. A scholarship will be in honor of one of our most dedicated alumni, Frank Cowling. This scholarship is awarded to a student that demonstrates exceptional leadership and prowess in athletics as well as academics.

Please click the link below to submit the completed application to the scholarship committee no later than Jan. 1.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at weaze@vt.edu .

I wish you nothing but continued success and look forward to receiving your scholarship application. You will soon be receiving an invitation to our Student Send-off party where we celebrate with the new first-year students who will be going to Virginia Tech this year! Go Hokies!
