Tampa Bay Chapter Scholarship

Dear Future Hokie:

As many as 1,232 Tech alumni are living or working in the Tampa Bay area. On behalf of these alumni in the Tampa Bay area, we want to encourage you to attend Virginia Tech, where we are “Putting Knowledge to Work.”

The university’s motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), drives the university and its alumni to promote service to society at many levels.  As part of our service, the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association plans to award a scholarship to a worthy high school senior in our area who will attend Virginia Tech in the fall of 2024.

We are seeking to attract highly qualified undergraduates to help achieve greater eminence and international prominence in science, technology, engineering, and agriculture, while building recognition in the social sciences, business, education, arts, and humanities toward Virginia Tech’s goal of being ranked among the nation’s top 30 universities. We also recognize that diversity of people enriches the learning experience.

Please submit the application by Jan. 1.

The criteria for selecting the scholarship award winner are based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need, and career goals essay.
