Letitia "Tish" Long

Tish Long

Letitia "Tish" Long is chairwoman of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance. She has extensive national security experience and was the first woman to run a major U.S. intelligence agency, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, from 2010 until her retirement in 2014.

Long earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech in 1982 and a master’s degree in engineering from The Catholic University of America in 1988. Long served on the Advisory Board of the Virginia Tech School of Public and International Affairs from 2015 to 2017 and the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors from 2017 to 2025, serving as rector from 2021 to 2023.  She is a member of the ECE Academy of Distinguished Alumni and the College of Engineering Academy of Engineering Excellence and was awarded the Virginia Tech University Distinguished Achievement Award in 2016.
